Activities

Below are a few of our favorite things to do when we are on the cape. To create your own adventure, we suggest visiting the Brewster Chamber of Commerce, and in particular, the Best of Brewster magazine. Also, see the 2023 Cape Cod Travel Guide from the Cape Cod Chamber. From the Cape Cod Chamber site, you can navigate to many of the local Chambers. Alternatively, visit Cape Cod Xplore.

Dining

While there are many chain restaurants & shops on the cape, we are going to stick to the locals.

Good Morning!

Let's start our mornings off right, with that perfect breakfast. Try the following, all within 2 miles:

Snowy Owl Coffee Roasters - Right around the corner on Main Street in Brewster. They have an excellent selection.

Eat Cake 4 Breakfast - Baked goods. Awesome. They have coffee. Enough said. Expect a line, but it is worth the wait.

The Kitchen Cafe Brewster - A tasty breakfast selection with indoor, outdoor or carryout options.

Lunch and Dinner

The Kitchen Cafe (lunch only) plus:

JT's Seafood Restaurant - Excellent locally-sourced seafood with a 'clam shack' vibe. You will see them mentioned under 'ice cream' too!

The 400 East - A pub-like atmosphere with good food and friendly service.

The Marshside Restaurant - We'll finish this portion of the list with finer dining. We love going around sunset.

Active Activities

In no specific order.

Nickerson State Park - so many outdoor activities.

Cape Cod Rail Trail - Beautiful for biking or walking. If you don't want to ride or walk from 22 Howland, there is parking near the access trail.

Pirates Cove Mini-golf - A well-kept mini-golf course beloved by our kids. It is certainly cheaper than any greens fees around here. Speaking of pirates, visit the Whydah Pirate Museum!

Cape Cod Museum of Natural History - A fine museum dedicated to the Cape.

Art's Dune Tours - What a way to visit the dunes at the National Seashore.

Cape Cod National Seashore - Our favorite beaches on the Cape are here.

Speaking of beaches - many come to the Cape to visit the beach and swim. Finding that perfect beach can be tough. Read this information from The Brewster CoC or the Cape Cod CoC.

Relaxing Activities

Cape Cod Baseball League - Field of Dreams; baseball the way it was meant to be watched. Who knows, you might just see the next big Major League star. Considering you are in Brewster, root for the Whitecaps.

Chatham Marconi Maritime Center - A museum dedicated to radio communications.

Cape Rep Theater - Local theater done right.

Cape Cod Central Railroad - Several options for scenic train rides.

Ferries to Nantucket or Martha's Vineyard - Make it a day on these special islands via the Steam Ship Authority or Hy-Line Cruises.

Ice Cream

Hey! Its the Cape, you gotta have awesome ice cream. JT's Seafood Restaurant (closest by the way) plus:

Hot Chocolate Sparrow in Orleans - If the name isn't intriguing enough, the selection will be. If you are worried about the calories, the Cape Cod Rail Trail passes right by it and is a 30-minute bike ride (so says Google Maps).

Four Seas Ice Cream - This shop was rated as one of New England's top 10 ice cream shops. That's what brought us onto the Cape for our first visit. And it is 'ice cream on a slant'. Go and see why we say that.
